A recent Education Week article which was followed up by an online chat (transcript) highlighted an administrative technology gap that most districts face in one form or another.

How can we expect to move forward with 2.0 initiatives when such a gap exists? At Mt. Lebanon, we closed that gap through a "mini-course" titled Administrator 2.0 Academy that we delivered to every one of our administrators...curricular and otherwise...during the Summer of 2007.

With an elevated "least-common-denominator" amongst all of our administrators, we are now prepared to engage in meaningful discussions about the value, potential, pitfalls, and concerns of collaborative tools in our classrooms.

Our next step is, naturally, Teacher 2.0 Academy...with administrative support firmly in hand, our future challenge is to get the word out there in a viral manner.
